Alexander Scott

Alexander Scott was appointed City Administrator for the city of Spokane, Washington by Mayor Lisa Brown in October 2024. Previously, he served as Mayor Brown’s Chief of Staff from the start of her Mayoral administration in January of 2024.

Prior to joining the Mayor's office, Alexander worked as Special Assistant for Federal Policy at the Washington State Department of Commerce. In that role, he helped the agency navigate the COVID-19 pandemic recovery efforts, including the landmark federal packages passed by Congress. These included the CARES Act, American Rescue Plan Act, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, CHIPS and Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and more.

Before joining the Commerce department, Scott spent three years working for United States Senator Maria Cantwell, where he served the 10 counties of Eastern Washington as the Senator's Outreach Director.

A 2016 graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, Scott honed his policy skills with stints working for the Spokane City Council and Washington State Senate Committee Services in Olympia.

Scott originally hails from the Walla Walla Valley, where he completed undergraduate studies at Walla Walla University, while also serving one term on the College Place City Council.

In his spare time, Alexander enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife Camlynne and their four daughters, as well as making music and playing basketball.
